His romantic prospects every season have always come down to House, damn it!

Exactly. They did it with Amber as a proxy because the writers didn't have the balls to actually put House and Wilson in that sort of situation. Or they did have the balls and Fox castrated them.

We should be happy we even get subtext at this point.
