I don't get the Julie Christie references, and I agree. Why so many? I believe KL made a comment about Heaven Can Wait, a guy who died before his time (by heavenly error), and is sent back to earth to live in a different body. Another limbo hint?

I do think the writers like to add in the actor's interest. For instance, take RSL's 80s references. Of course, this might have something to do with the POTW.

I'm thinking Cleveland is a metaphor for limbo also. It's not considered a vacation destination, but rather a place people need travel for business or family.

it means they have been sharing clothes for years following their occasional secret love fest evenings together.
Well, of course! When House moved in with Wilson in season 6 and did his laundry, wasn't he wearing Wilson's socks? Tptb leave out the best parts. *pouts*

OT: In 8x19 There's a nice parallel between HW and the POTW. House takes care of Wilson, who is almost family, and the POTW's mother is a her doctor.

You may be right. I have heard the use of the city "Cleveland" to mean "the middle of nowhere" or "a place best forgotten about" (though I understand it is actually a pretty good city nowadays). So the reference could be 'Cleveland' in a metaphorical sense, someplace Wilson doesn't really want to go. Or a type of Llmbo.
