But, you know, while House might not change, even after major events, Wilson is the type of person to see an event like this as an opportunity for change. Maybe *he* wants to change, maybe he wants happiness, and that's the conflict with House. I'm sure Thirteen could probably understand that. And it's something that could sort of go unresolved in the finale. Wilson wants more, he wants meaning to his life, now he has experienced that life is short. House has always thought this is nonsense, and it would mean change for him too, so he's against it. This could have played out over a longer arc, it could have given RSL a way out if he wanted, and it's a nice halfway point for House to maybe end the show on. He doesn't believe in change, but can he at least support his friend when he wants to?
I'm just grasping at straws at this point, I really don't want Wilson to die.
