I think that if the finale is meant to be "uplifting," then it's also possible that it features House overcoming Wilson's death.

I really don't know either though.

I recall an article where David Shore is also highlighting the great importance of House and Wilson's friendship, but must like with Hugh Laurie's comments...I'm unsure if that means House and Wilson are headed toward something in the future together (that is positive) or something particularly bleak, as you've suggested.

I really don't think the finale will be about House overcoming Wilson's death if Hugh Laurie is focusing on how they are bound together for better or worse and need each other. Really does not fit, if you ask me.

And David Shore was practically gushing about how House and Wilson is one of the most unique male friendships on television...So why focus so much on that if they're just going to simply kill him off?

I think that what makes the most sense, is it being evident that Wilson has a significantly shortened life span, but that House and Wilson are going to enjoy the time they have left. That would be uplifting, IMO.

I really really hope he doesn't die. From what everyone has said here, it's looking to be, to me, a slimmer and less realistic possibility...

But I think I'm just going to prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

Either way, I can see brilliant fanfiction coming out of this.

Well, I do hate to say it, but if you are referring to what DS supposedly said in an article posted sometime recently, he said that exact same thing sometime last year after Moving On aired, if I recall correctly. Perhaps even before. But it was an old quote.

Still, doesn't change where his priorities are.

I agree with you, about this meaning Wilson will have a shorter life, as in the cancer is not defeated, but will not die on the show. I think, although the cancer itself can quite easily be cured in reality, it won't be on the show for a number of reasons, one of which is just to drive home a point. Which is fine by me, in the end.

Anything is possible; who knows, maybe House does hallucinate episodes 20-22, or... 21 and 22, but some things are more likely than others, and I don't believe Wilson dies. Can't say about the finale, maybe he does, but I... Don't think it fits what people have been saying about it so far.

We just have to keep our chins up. ONE month left of this show we've all loved and all hated at times, both with intensity and passion. And guess what... The final arc focuses on House and Wilson. That in itself is a pretty fantastic gift.
