That whole bit felt weird and out of place for me. I loved seeing House connect with all these people in this episode and as far as I'm concerned, Alvie can come back anytime. That hug was the sweetest thing.

I may have have to rethink seeing this episode, just because Alvie is so adorable.

Yay!! I didn't notice he was wearing Alvie's shirt. Adorable.
Also, my tv is dying and everything is too dark, so the whole sex scene was pretty much black. I didn't see him cry. That's heart breaking.

My thoughts on this scene:

I'd been worried that the premier would involve a medical mystery. I thought it'd be ruined by House running around saying "she's not crazy, it's just a...thyroid condition. or lupus?". So what I loved about this scene was that it was really the only moment where someone consulted him in his capacity as a doctor. And it wasn't for a mystery. It was for something completely mundane, and completely heartbreaking. So much of House's sense of selfworth is tied to his job, so when he saw that the consult could have been done by any other doctor, his instinct was to exercise that other part of his talent that he prides himself for - figuring people out. I think the fact that Nolan seemed to be alone in this horrible moment, despite how stable he comes off as, and thought that maybe House could be of some use in that situation, helped House make that step to just sit down, shut up, and wait with the man. Maybe the dying father aspect played into it, maybe not. Still, I thought it was a good choice, that scene.

I adored Alvie. And yes, I think he would make a GREAT new on-going character. Maybe when he does get out he needs a job... and gets work in the hospital cafeteria or as a janitor. Something low-stress that wouldn't trigger psychotic breaks (which, I know personally, are not fun) and fairly easy to handle. If the shows producers don't leap onto this one they'll miss something awesome.

I wanted to be doing a couple of things in this episode:

1 - eat the cake off of House.
2 - trade places with Lydia. In that dark office.

I totally wanna see Alvie again.

*sniff* I hope we get Alvie back at some point. He was awesome. Hehe, the hug though...good times.

I think this might be the first time we've seen House actively hug someone. (Chase hugged him during the fake brain cancer, but he didn't hug back).
Alvie deserves a lot of love for that. :)

I wonder how I missed the fact that Lydia looks A LOT like Wilson.

Which really seems to imply that House has more than one "friend". Which would be awesome. I'd really like to see them both come around often, because I love both Alvie and Lucas heaps!
