House does love Wilson, he shows it over and over again. Will they ever act on it? Unlikely. In other times and with other upbringing (and other producers etc.) it would be inevitable. Their relationship is written like a love affair and only the homophobic time and place will delute it to male bonding and friendship. If one of them was a woman, nobody, no-bo-dy would argue that they are each other's destiny. It's the point of view alone that makes them "bestest friends who would die for each other" or "epic starstruck lovers".
It really not just appears that they use Cuddy etc. to destract themselves from the truth. They do.
