I like all of this, but your Taub explanation really caught my attention. You are right, and I think they even hint at that when Taub tells House that he (Taub) has matured. Of course that might just be a set up on the part of the writers to show in an upcoming episode that he hasn't, but I think like you do, that he really has. And Kutner was indeed the turning point.
