The cane is broken? Could just be normal promo shoot. Or all symbolical. Signifies the end of an era for sure, also that the crutch is gone or he won't need it anymore. Maybe he is not gonna die, but finally gets his leg amputated?

Also maybe a more symbolical crutch? Wilson comes to mind, who he can lean on, but I am not willing to believe that THAT's what it means. Rather prefer the idea that the cane is crude symbol for House's struggles and the show in itself...

His hair looks kinda longish though, didn't he cut it after the first few episodes? Did they maybe take the shot a long time ago, just "in case" it was the last season?

I'm not going to put too much stock into promo images. They rarely wind up meaning anything, or if they do it's only in a very vague way. Like the clown make up? Or the one where the entire cast was on a bed, or posed like the Last Supper, or made to look like they were on vacation.

Great catch with the hair. You're right, and they probably knew at the beginning that this may be the last season.
For some reason all this image makes me think of is HL being relieved and sad that it's over. To me, this doesn't look like House.

I don't believe there is any significance at all. It's a very generic image: broken cane = series end. This promo photo is obviously old as well, looks EXACTLY like the promo photos from the season 8 premiere. I'd even say it was the same photo shoot.

I don't think this pic has anything to do with actual plot points of the finale. That said...maybe you're right!!!
Maybe the news Wilson will deliver to House in tonights ep even has to do with a new opportunity to improve House's leg. I think this would disappoint me a tiny bit. Because it would mean, that my last hope for some kind of a storyline for Wilson would most likely be eliminated. Oh well. Can't wait for tonight/tomorrow morning! :)

Whatever the storyline will be, we WILL get a Wilson-centric storyline (well H/W but that means one half is Wilson). So, don't you worry too much ;)

I'd rather have the opportunity for House to get better, than either of them being sick... But that's just my personal opinion.

What I have always found interesting about the prison garb photo is that the letters have two meanings:
DOC as in doctor
DOC as in Department of Corrections

I kind of thought that too tbh, but nothing ever came of it in the show, and that's kind of the point here. It's fun to analyze the image, but it won't give us any clues about the last few episodes.

Means they had many requisites, but look at the flaming cane. I know he had only one. But they have three or four props? :) Also, it doesn't show the whole canes (like the handles aren't visible)..

It's quite fascinating though... Maybe they'll mention them in that weird pre-finale thing.

This is an older photo Photoshopped into the new image. There's the hair and the expression, pretty much exactly the same as the pre-season photos. Doesn't mean anything except they think this version of HL is more attractive than late-season HL. That's my guess. Nice concept, though.
