RSL's insight into H/W... I've never seen it on here and I've never seen it when browsing through youtube for hours but I've seen the Hugh Laurie one a lot...

At first, this interview crushed everything. But then I realized David Morse = Tritter, so this is an older interview. I'm maintaining my optimism that the writers are making something there.

Last time I watched this was pre season four - Now I watched it past the "We're a couple, House!" and it made me gleefully imagine RSL act out that scene, all while remembering that awkward interview with Assiello. *squee!*



A while ago, this com was discussing that interview, desperately trying to figure out if RSL's 'clueless-ness' meant death for H/W - b then another interview with him came out(sans Aussiello) and he's all like - 'People wonder why Wilson is so attracted to House - but I don't at all! House is a great guy! He is so funny and intelligent - a great person to be around.' And we all breathed a sigh of relief and put the previous one down to Aussiello being an ass.

When this was originally posted I think the general reaction was that Ausiello screwed up by beginning the question about House and Wilson then shifting to it being about Robert and Hugh, considering that RSL always refers to Wilson as Wilson, not "me" or "I."

Yep. When it first came out, everyone said, "Waaah, RSL is a HoYay deny-er."

Then the "Big Romantic Weekend in the Poconos" teaser clip was released, either the same day or the next day, and we realized there was no way RSL could deny knowledge of the HoYay potential for House/Wilson. So, on closer review, we saw that it was RSL/HL sexual tension he was proclaiming not to feel.

Or Ausiello just needs a big lesson in "CHARACTER VS. ACTOR." I can see how fans or whatever can say "Hugh" as shorthand for "Hugh playing House" or whatever, but RSL is obviously not going around thinking of himself as Wilson or Hugh as House.

RSL has occasionally addressed the subtext and the H/W relationship - and his relationship with Hugh, for that matter - but those are different questions.

Frankly...this quashes RPS only, which is fine with me.

And I'm not one to argue semantics. Ausiello's an idiot, but I also think that in the 16+ months since then, the show has gone a lot less subtle with their subtext, so even if RSL wasn't playing dumb, I mean, whatever.

Trust the tale, not the teller. RSL, HL, David Shore, Katie Jacobs, even St Doris herself could all deny it if they wanted to; it wouldn't change the fact that IT'S THERE, and to a ridiculous extent.
