Looking at this from the GLASS HALF-EMPTY stance (as is my standard position), this also means that Wilson will not be forming a romantic relationship with House this season.

Granted, I prefer this, as House has way too much mental baggage to think about starting a relationship with anyone. THAT INCLUDES CUDDY, HOUSE WRITERS. >:(

I actually thought that at first too, but then I realized after everything that happened at the end of last season House has other issues to deal with, like you mentioned. Any romantic relationship for House right now doesn't make much sense to me.

I want the House/Wilson friendship to be seen more too. If the writers ever decide to go with furthering House and Wilson, I'd prefer it to be in the last season of the show.

Craziness. His romantic prospects every season have always come down to House, damn it! But in practice, it just never seems to pan out. I don't think I'll be watching this season! I'm just tired of the will-they-or-won't-they when it's become really clear over the past two seasons that they won't.

Exactly. They did it with Amber as a proxy because the writers didn't have the balls to actually put House and Wilson in that sort of situation. Or they did have the balls and Fox castrated them.

Hmm.. is it me, or does RSL not answer the question? He says he doesn't enjoy it, not that it won't happen... I would personally love him to find someone for him to be happy with. No matter what happens, we get all our delicious subtext and wonderful friendship, so I'd be interested to see him in a relationship after Amber.

Okay with Robert Sean Leonard you really have to read between the lines because he's a person who very carefully constructs his responses. I'm guessing they're going to spend more time on who Wilson is as a person. Recall RSL described Wilson as "creepy" in an earlier interview. I think we're going to find out House isn't the only one not working with a full mental set. I think we're going to find out some of the secrets House alluded to in that one scene with Wilson in NOT CANCER, i.e. I can call you names, tell your secrets, have you followed . . . "

I also think they're going to push the envelope on the nature of "friendship" between House and Wilson. Recall in Both Sides Now, they juxtaposed the marriage (comnmitment ceremony) between Chase and Cameron with the long-term "commitment between House and Wilson.

And I want to give a shout out to RSL for describing the "onscreen love stuff" as awkward. It is normal and very healthy for a person who has a partner to feel uncomfortable doing similar things with anorther person because when you get right down to it even though you're kissing another actor to advance a story, it is impossible to fake a kiss - you really have to kiss them. So RSL's reaction just makes me love him more. With said, I don't think he'd feel particularly awkward with HL because they are such close friends and understand each so well.

I definitely think we are going to find out more about Wilson as a person, along with the creepy thing I think we will see a sort of 'darker' side to Wilson. Maybe not dark in the usual sense, but the other side to him that he doesn't show.

I actually think the akwardness with love scenes would help with House/Wilson (assuming hypothetically it would happen, of course) because it would come across so well that they are crossing a boundry that neither of them have crossed and are of course going to feel a little strange.

It also means Wilson won't jump House in a janitor's closet and render him incoherent. :( I had real hope for this.

You never know, without a girlfriend he might feel very frustrated and a hand not just cutting it so pushes him into the janitors closest and relieves both of their 'tension' :P
