As for the Hilsons - the group that have declared victory in this particular shipping war - they backed the love between House and his best friend Dr James Wilson (played by Robert Sean Leonard). House season eight ends with House and Wilson taking off together on a road trip. As usual, David Shore demonstrated House and Wilson's love in a weird ass way; nevertheless, it was gratifying.

I think Hamerons were well-served by the ending episode too. Cameron had a large part of House's hallucination, and was arguably the most accepting of House, and most comforting to House -- showing her value to him. Then at the end, even though the real Cameron had an established life, she looked back on House fondly.

Still, the show ended where it began: with House and Wilson side-by-side, unique in each other's lives. ♥

Also, I think Cameron was a representation of courage too, and she gave the push House needed to finally leave the building (his shell?) to start to face whatever is coming on his way. That was an awesome role!

I do think things ended best for the Hilson shippers (though I object to the wording - that we "won") and it reminds me of the saying "be careful what you wish for". Many of us probably wished at one time or another they would canonically hook House and Wilson up, but after Huddy happened I am glad they didn't. As a H/W shipper, I can imagine what I want happening behind closed doors and it can still fit with canon.:)

Yeah, I don't like the we 'won' thing either, I think it's a shame the fandom ended up divided down the middle (more or less). You have a good point - I'm sure some of the Huddy shippers were apprehensive about them getting together in canon because the show being what it was it was never going to last (although I don't think anyone could have predicted just how badly it would end).
